JetHome ES1-AC is a 5-port 10/100Mbps Ethernet switch with passive PoE, DIN rail mount, 220V or cascading power.
JetHome ES1AC is a kind of symbiosis of an Ethernet PoE switch with an uninterruptible power supply. And in the image above, we see a whole set of various pins for connection, which means that all of them can be used. How to do it - let's figure it out.
Let's highlight 4 main methods of use, if desired, they can be grouped depending on the needs.
AC IN terminals supply 110-220VAC. At the same time, there is no need to use additional power supplies to power all connected peripherals.
In this case, when powered from a 100-240V AC network, the "PoE out" supply voltage on the "Ethernet 2" - "Ethernet 5" ports, as well as on the "DC out" terminal, is 24V.< /p>
The advantage of JetHome ES1-AC is the ability to connect a lead battery from 1.2Ah for backup power. That is, the switch also turns into an uninterruptible power supply device.
When switching to backup power from the battery, in the absence of voltage at the AC and Ethernet 1 terminals, the supply voltage to "PoE out", as well as to the "DC out" terminal - will be supplied directly from the battery and will be 12V .
Powered by PoE IN with the ability to power peripheral equipment.
Thus, we can power the switch using PoE IN (Ethernet 1), while all connected devices will be powered by Passive PoE OUT technology, without using additional power sources (sockets, batteries, etc.).
When powered by the "PoE in" input, the "PoE out" supply voltage on the "Ethernet 2" to "Ethernet 5" ports and the "DC out" terminal is equal to the "PoE in" input voltage.
Thanks to the DC Out terminals, it is possible to power additional peripherals (for example, a home router or a smart home server) that do not understand passive PoE.
The voltage at the DC Out terminals, when powered from AC220V, is 24V, when connected via PoE IN, it is equal to the incoming voltage at the time of backup power (battery) - 12V.
Be careful, not all routers can be powered from 24V voltage. As a rule, most of them use complete power supplies with a rated current of 9-12V. To lower the voltage to an acceptable level, you can use a DC-DC buck converter.
As a bonus, we get 2 terminals of the “dry contact” type, for monitoring the presence of supply voltage and low battery. These terminals can be connected to the discrete inputs of the controller and monitor the statusReal-time visibility of equipment.
Only devices that support passive PoE power can be connected to the switch.
Do not connect computers, laptops and other household devices to the ports "Ethernet 2" - "Ethernet 5"!
